Quilt With Us

Hey guys, all have been so great and incouraging.  I looked in at a couple of your home pages and you guys are nurses too.  What is it that draws stressed out overworked underappreciated falling apart nurses to a hobbie that can be frustrating, exasprating, embarassing, overpowering, heartfelt, and OH that is just cool?  To the nurses that took the time to give me a moment of their time.  Thank you.  I am still trying to learn this site so I am stumbling through this right now too.

Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, and give yourself some praise.  Quilters or nurses alike are great groups of people.  Julie

I'm not a nurse , but I think you all work very hard and should all be given medals for your expertise.

Hey Julie, my mother is a nurse midwife in MN and she tells me how hard it is all the time. You guys work your tails off, and I know personally that it's very taxing physically and mentally. Quilting is such a great 'escape' where we can feel accomplished and appreciate the hard work that goes into each piece. I hope you find solace on those really hard days!

Hi Julie, I guess you won't be suprised at how many are nurses (me included).  I think we can't live without the stress in our lives although I do find the hand quilting very relaxing.  I have made two quilts  by hand

before I got my machine but now I use my machine most of the time.  You will get use to the site and any

of us are willing to help.

Sounds like we tell those birthing Moms.   Really works though, doesn't it?   I think it is the challenge and great when we have created something positive to counter the saddest we see as nurses.
