Quilt With Us

I am off to the Skin Doc this AM. I think my wrinkles (Oh excuse me! Make that Character Lines!) across my forehead will be re-arranged when he is through plying his skill with the little knife. My biopsy of “that spot” last Tuesday came back with wording I had hoped NOT to hear. But hear it I did so it is time to get that taken care of. Much like chickens, my life time of sun exposure has come home to roost. Fair skin & a family history of such uglies add fuel to this never ending fire.

The Doc is a kind fella. He & I have known each other a long time. He has a gentle touch & a kind way about him. Has the most beautiful white hair! I keep thinking if I live long enough, perhaps I will get that beautiful God Frost for my ‘crowning glory’. Probably not gonna happen since it has not yet gone beyond salt & pepper!

I am looking forward to my new pattern of the “Ladies” arriving. I’ve always enjoyed a good challenge & I think that one is going to be definitely that. Whoa doggies, I might be barking a different tune a few days after starting that one. I probably will change some of the coloring more to my liking.

On a totally different note: Thank you for all the times you cyber friends stop by to read my postings. I am always pleasantly surprised by the number of truly lovely things people post back. I also appreciate Connecting Threads for having this wonderful forum that was / is the stepping stone for ‘meeting’ some really wonderful internet friends.

Make today special ~ have a wonderful day!

Hope all goes well and you are your chipper self soon!! It is always helpful and so much easier when your Dr is someone you feel good with and have known for quite a long time!
Have a great day!

What a blessing to have a doctor you are comfortable with...and you're getting the "spot" taken care of.
I'm looking forward to seeing the "Ladies" when you post pics.
Also looking forward to reading your posts. They are insightful and uplifting...always a pleasant attitude!

Having had one spot removed from the back of my left arm, I know what is going through your mind. I was lucky in that though it was a 4 grade (or whatever they call it), they felt they got all of it. There was plenty of skin from the "bat wings" so didn't have to have skin grafted. It will be 5 years in Jan. and no sign of it returning. Will pray that you have that kind of luck also.

Riley, I'm guessing that doc of yours, loves to see you come in. He too probably enjoys your words of wisdom. My family doc always set aside extra time just to have a challenging(debate) conversation...I always try to leave him laughing! Hope everything is fine and taken care of!

I'm so glad you have a good doctor who is very kind. You are so wise to keep a close eye on those spots--my regular doctor got exasperated with me for asking about this spot or that, but I have very fair skin, live in the deep south, and have a family history of problems. Finally, I was seeing a dermatologist for something unrelated and he took the time to show me what to look for--not only gave me peace of mind, but also the knowledge I needed.

Blessings on you, Riley.

Miz' Riley, I hope you had a good time at the Dr. man's. I hope he didn't remove all your character lines.
I hope that all turns out well for you. As for the ladies, I have all the faith in the world that you will succeed. You are a very talented lady, in sewing as well as words. Thanks for sharing and caring..........

Good luck at the doctor! Best to catch these things early. As for the "ladies" I went and looked at the pattern and it's gorgeous and I'm trying to convince myself of two things--I don't have time--and--surely I could squeeze out enough time to make that. Hmmm, that makes me sound kinda crazy.

It's always a good day to have things taken care, even if we don't want to. May you have a good day and I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm glad you are getting the "spot" taken care of. It's great you have such a good doctor. I know all about fair skin! LOL Take care - and don't get rid of too much character!
