Quilt With Us

Thanks everyone for your prayers.. We are home again but on 24 hour notice if fire flares up again. We are on the Halstead fire. Other than pets we did not bring much back with us incase we leave again. I had to laugh the day we were packing to leave. DH collects old guns. As I was packing my quilts he pipes up and says "Hey those would be perfect to wrap my guns in." Lets just say after I gave him my answer, he won't ever ask that question again. What was he thinking?

Going to go to sewing room and just sew for a while and forget about all that smoke outside. Thank you again you are all awesome.

Will keep praying that the fires do not return and you can stay safely in your home until all danger is passed. Be safe and keep that lovely sense of humor!

We won't stop thinking about you and sending positive thoughts your way.  Hope you are not forced to leave again.

Glad you have a reprieve and can be back home for now and can spend some time in your sewing room. Something tells me your DH's ears were burning when you "explained" why your quilts would NOT be used to wrap his guns. LOL

Lori, I sure the fire doesn't get any closer!  When I lived in Las Vegas we would occasionally get fires in the mountains, but they never got closer than about 20 miles to our house although we could see them.  I can just see the look on your face about your quilts!

Guys are all alike...we just give them names to tell which one is ours. Mine would ask the same thing. The smell of smoke must be heavy in the air. Prayers sent to the firefighters...they have to be exhausted.

So glad to hear you dodged the bullet for now. Hopefully it won't flare up again.  PS:  My husband would grab his guns first, too.  Thanks for the heads up to be watchful what he's using to pack them in! :D

So glad you were able to go home, I hope the Fire stays calm and you don't have to leave again soon.  I keep hoping for an early fall with lots of rain and snow, We could sure use the moisture!
