Quilt With Us

Well, we have finally arrived home and what a joy it is. For some reason the last few days on the road seemed really hard. We drove some extra miles each day and ended up cutting out 2 days of driving. My parents were sure glad to see us home. I have some great pictures to share.... later. We took a shortcut in our haste to get home and ended up on a mountain pass 10,000 feet high with lava beds and no place to turn around. It was beautiful but scarry with only a 3' shoulder between us and the gazillion foot drop off. Hubby did good and kept his cool. Me on the other hand had my eyes closed more than they were open. It's scarrier being the passenger as the driver sits over the middle of the road. As a passenger, it appears that you are on the shoulder and you could just reach out and grab a tree branch . (It's hard to explain) Anyway, we survived that obviously, and had good roads everyday after that. We just beat the snow. It's expected all thru Utah and Idaho in the higher elevations. Now the motorhome goes in for roof repair as I don't think convertible motorhomes are going to be in style for a long time. Besides out duct tape fix is about to give out.
I wasn't able to do any posts the last few days as the parks we were in didn't have any wifi or cable. I got on an obsure account but it only lasted for a few mintues. Dumped me off after I was half way thru typing my daily post.
Now my work begins again. I have a lot of things to finish as a result from Market and I made some new friends that I am anxious to contact (via email). Plus, I have promised myself to clean my sewing room. I mean REALLY clean it. My "pile file" system has just got to go. Plus my parents will need me more for a while. It always happens when I manage to get away. Well, have a great week and I'll try to get those photos downloaded.

Debby, glad you had safe travels. I would not have liked turning around on that mountain pass. Have fun cleaning your sewing room. I just did mine last week. It's a good feeling to see the tops of all the flat surfaces again.lol

Glad to know that you're home safe--and I hope well? Getting home is always the best part of traveling!! It certainly makes one appreciate home--but sounds like you have lots of parent chores to catchup on. Best wishes from Texas!! Happy stitching--one day at a time!!

Debbie, welcome, welcome, welcome home! Sure wish I was closer so I could make supper tonight for you but guess you are going to have to fend for yourself tonight. Looking forward to seeing your pictures and realize also that you probably have your web site to update as well. Glad you had a great time at Market and made some wonderful friends. Hope it all turns out to be totally successful for you. Hugs to you. Yes, Convertible Motorhomes are not in style so you might want to get it repaired. Chat at you later. Hugs

Good to see you made it home safely. I drive some of those hairpin mountain passes and don't think I breathe much on them, and that's in a smallish car. I can't imagine the extra tension in an RV. I hope you get a chance to catch your breath and enjoy your sewing room (once it's de-piled) and relax.

I know what you mean about being the passenger... my oldest daughter and I took a bus from Mich to Fla about 39 years ago and we went through the Kentucky 'foothills'. I can still remember looking out the window of the bus and looking straight down and not being able to see ground. When it came time to come back, I told the ticket agent that I didn't care what it took, but he was not to put me on one that would go through Kentucky again. They might have called them 'foothills', but they looked more like Michigan mountains to me.
Glad to hear that you made it back safe and sound. Have fun cleaning your sewing room. :)
