Well, it’s Monday and we left Houston this morning after packing up the motor home and returning the rental van. Market and Festival is really something. If you EVER have a chance to go to Festival, you won’t be sorry. It is truly something you think you know but it’s that and more. One hour before the doors opened the line of ladies was 4 and 5 deep and 2 city blocks long. Then the doors open and the rush is on. Most of the day on Thursday and Friday, you could hardly get thru some of the isles. They had, not only quilt paraphernalia but antiques, jewelry, jewelry cleaner, shoes, shoes with springs on the heals, clothes, beads, and fingernail painting. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The only word that really explains it is: WOW! Then, there’s the quilt show. Amazing…quilts of every medium you can imagine. It took me 4 days of going in 1-2 hours early to hurriedly see all the quilts. They had a special area for Quilts of Valor, Breast Cancer Quilts and Project Linus. Quilts from all over the world. A special exhibit from Japan, Russia and Germany. An antique quilt section, painted quilts, art quilts, traditional quilts and many more. There is no way I can explain what it is you feel when you walk among all those beautiful quilts. It almost takes your breath away.
I caught a awful head cold during Festival. With the noise level what it was, you had to get right into a persons face to hear what they were saying. So with the cold piled on top of being so tired, I can’t think of anything else to say. I’ll post some quilt during the drive home. I’m off to bed. Have a great evening.
