Quilt With Us

The men saddled up and headed out to a branding early this morning. The horses were feeling frisky and the cowdog was going berserck - could make for an interesting day.

The good news is - I have the day to myself. aaaahhh! No meals to fix and nowhere to go. Yesterday was housecleaning, laundry and lawn-mowing day, so outside of checking the first-calf heifers in hubby's absence, I'm looking forward to a nice, quiet day of quilting. Of course, it would be my luck to have calving problems when "the man" is gone and I'm here by myself... He left a horse in the corral in case I needed to bring anything to the barn. We'll hope things go well and that won't be necessary. BUT the sun is shining and it looks like it will be another beautiful day in these Nebraska hills.

Happy Mother's Day weekend everyone!

I know that it sounds like so much fun, but of course, it is really plain hard work, ranching I mean. It's great that you are excited to have a day to yourself, hope you got to enjoy it all day long~

I like those days You always feel like its a little vacation in the middle of it all. But usually for me I would have trouble with a hfr calving, don't know how many times I've called a neighbor to help me with one to have the calf born just before the neighbor arrives.
