Quilt With Us

I've been using up scraps to make hot pads... turning out really well... have a few birthday gifts to give and these will do well... disappointed that my camera did not capture the true colours and they look bland when in fact are bright strong colours.....this one has brilliant lime green and purple... oh kay.. new camera maybe?

I get the same thing with my pics and my cameras are fairly new, so I don't think that it is that.  Very pretty hot pads, and so wise to use up those scraps!

thank you ladies for your comments... It was something that I thought would go quickly and they make handy gifts... and they all have a story as to where each fabric came from... some pieces are 30 years old...oh, I am such a hoader.

That's a great idea making hot pads. Mine could stand to be replaced.

We made hot pads in home ec in high school! My teacher must have been a quilter, because I remember we were NEVER allowed to throw any scraps out--because they were tossed into a big cardboard box labeled "Hot Pad Fabric".

I have made some too, and it's a fun project for an afternoon!

Who doesn't love hot pads...mine get used to the point of tossing and make new ones!

I think that using the flash on the camera will sometimes 'wash' out the colors; maybe you can play with it and see if that helps any.  hot pads sound like a great way to use up some scraps.. may have to try some myself as I think my scraps are procreating in the closet :)

Beautiful scrap hot pads. sometimes my camera doesn't always show how bright some of the colors are that I have used. I have that green and purple outer purple and love those colos. Those hot pads will do someone just fine and they'll love them. Also, good way to get rid of scraps.
