The more, the merrier!  I get ideas off of each pretty quilt that I see!

Just happened across this discussion. I too enjoy seeing photos of things that are of a personal nature. Living in an isolated area and without any contact with other quilters, it makes me feel more connected to others. I have developed some very strong friendships with others due to your site. It's nice to see where others live, their families, etc. I have had others request photos of the area I live in.

I also enjoy all the personal photos along with the quilting ones. It make our connection all the closer, in my mind. Hope we aren't having a huge problem with this. It seems that a lot of the "newer" viewers aren't even putting a photo on their face page. That's sad, I like to see who I am chatting with!

I enjoy the pictures too. Quilts, pets, landscapes, kids, grandkids--it doesn't matter. It makes me feel even more connected to my QWU community of friends.

Personally I enjoy looking at most of the pics that people post.  Is there starting to be a storage problem for QWU?  If so, it sounds like Irene's suggestion would be the perfect solution.  Since I am one of the posters who occasionally posts pics of things that are not sewing related, I have to say that I do enjoy seeing those kinds of pics as well.  I would not want that to be done more than quilting related pics though.

How many personal? None, unless it shows something sewn.

The first place I look for pictures is the person's page. I've not been here long, but I did put a bunch of pictures up on my own page. Was that wrong?

My opinion is that personal pics should be allowed on individual blog posts and personal pages.  The poster can add appropriate info to explain the photos. Viewers don't have to look at them if they don't want to. I especially enjoy Peggy Stuart's weekly post with all the photos and captions.

Personal pics should be limited or excluded in the photo gallery, which is on the left sidebar of the main page. The ones I have seen in the past had no explanation of who or what I was looking at. This space should be only for quilts and quilted items. JMHO

I had to think about this for a while.  I think seeing some personal pictures helps to really connect with the other quilters.  However, I agree with Irene, in that the site has grown, and perhaps it is time to, as she said, limit our pictures to one or two of a single subject at any one posting.
