Quilt With Us

I just got home from local quilt shop--purchased the same fabric--for the same project--the third time. On purpose. Really? What's wrong with me? The most amazing part of the story is not that I needed more, and more, but that I bought it here and they still have some left. I asked my name be put on the bolt--you know--just in case I still don't have enough. Sheesh!

Twenty years ago I bought some fabric with an African theme. When I finally found a pattern I liked for it, I didn't have enough. (New quilter error...) Ten years later I visited a quilt store 50 miles north of me, and found a little of that same fabric on a bolt in their clearance room. I bought the rest of it. Haven't touched it since. LOL! But I have bought a bundle of animal prints I thought would go well with it...

You know what's really funny...Most of us have done the very same thing before......so, know that you are not along.  When the bolt is still there it makes me question MY taste.  like..."why is it not selling...doesn't anybody else like this fabric?"  lol      Great post....got a good laugh...thanks

Oh well, I was picturing YARDS here, Barbara!  Whew!

Actually, the project is fairly small--the last trip, I bought a quarter of a yard--actually only needed a 6" square but for some reason they wouldn't let me just cut off a little corner.

It's good you could still get the fabric off the same bolt.  Sometimes a new bolt is a different dye lot.  Hope you won't have to make any more trips to the store for more.

Maybe you didn't want anyone else to have this great fabric??  Maybe you're going to make a really really big quilt??   Sheesh says it all.
