Quilt With Us

I have been pretty busy this year making quilts for cash, and quilting other quilter's quilts.  I have made several quilts for family and friends as well.  I still have quilts to make for 2 more of my three sons(I know...it sounds like an old sitcom), but I already have a good start with most of the blocks already made.  I just need to get them put together and quilted.

Joe(my husband) and I have been making progress on my Quilting Cabin.  All of the wiring to 20 outlets and 10 ceiling lights is in, and works.  The ceilings are in, & the walls are insulated, and paneled.  We painted the paneling(it was cheaper than having the walls dry walled).  We have trim on half of the windows, and they look great.  We have the flooring ordered, and as soon as the trim is all up and painted, we will install the floors.  I can hardly wait until it is all ready to move into.  I have so much stuff stored away to go in there.  I see everything where it belongs each time I go out there and close my eyes.  I guess you can tell that I am really getting excited.  It has taken over a year so far.  Joe works as a lead electrician in a steel mill and puts in way too many hours, so it has been slow going at times.  It will get done, I just have to be patient.  Patience is NOT my strong suit, so I have to keep telling myself, "Soon".  I will post pictures when it gets done, I promise.

Oh how jealous of you I am!  LOL   I would dearly love to have my own place, outside the main house, where I could just lock myself in & sew to my heart's content.   I have enough room in the back yard to put another building, but I don't know if the city would approve it.

Actually, there are locks and dead bolts on both the front and back doors, so I can have the peace and quiet I crave.  My husband is just awesome and when we go fabric shopping, he doesn't even flinch when when the total is absolutely obscene.  We hope to have the Quilting House done before Christmas.  I am not holding my breath, though.

Are you going to install a lock on the door so people cannot bother you when you are sewing? Your lucky to have a man so talented as your husband. Next year at this time you will be moved in and sewing away!

You will be the envy of all of us once that quilting cabin is done!  I understand the patience issue.  But, once you have everything in there, it will be worth all that waiting.  Those pictures can't arrive soon enough; I am so excited for you!

Your cabin sounds like a dream come true and you will soon be waking up. I am still dreaming.........

Your cabin sounds like it will be quite the sewing retreat! Can't wait to see pictures...I totally understand patience (or lack of)!
