Quilt With Us

I am starting to think I lost my mind

Ok so there are a few things going on with my quilt.  I bought my longarm because of my bad shoulder.  Well after finishing the quilt (posting a better picture below) I realized it would look better quilted by hand. Problem #2 I discovered my quilt frame that my mom and dad made for me years ago was left outside.  Sanding and refinishing them.  While working on the frames I discovered that my mom had stamped her initials and the year she made the frame for me.  That hit me kind of hard.  So back to the quilt.  As some of you know I seldom do things by any kind of standard.  I thought that this quilt would look good with calligraphy design elements instead of the stitch in the ditch or feathers all over.  Problem #3 I found the designs I wanted to use but getting them to the right size to fit the spaces on the quilt, that was a little challenging.  LOL  It took me most of the night and all morning but I got the designs sized and printed out.  Problem #4 how to transfer the designs to the quilt?  I tried to use a light box and trance the design but the white fabric is a white on white and seeing the design from underneath just wasn't working for me.  Bright idea struck me, DD has a circuit maker and she says that it will cut stencils.  I hope so cause I really don't know how else I'm going to get the designs onto the quilt top.

I'm just reading your post. Computer was in the shop close to 3 weeks. The Tech was sick.  The quilt is gorgeous and I agree with the others that having your parents home made frame is precious. It's beautiful. I hope you got your designs figured out. Today May 5th I'm taking a free motion quilting class. I joined the Quilters Guild a few months ago. Now I belong to three sewing groups.

What a beautiful quilt!  What a keepsake that quilt frame from your mother is.  It will be spectacular when you refinish it.

Pretty quilt, Kathy.  How great that you have your mom's quilt frame.  It's a beauty!  I can identify with your challenges.  I always have great ideas, but seem to hit snags when I go to implement them.  You are so creative, you'll sort it all out and it will be a beautiful quilt.
