Thankyou Pam for your nice comment on my quilt. I took 3rd place at our fair with this quilt. I was soooo happy I cried. I worked so hard on this quilt I was overwelled when I saw my ribbon. I have it hanging in my living room with the ribbon on it.

thank you for all the compliments on my quilt. I worked really hard on every block and on the oil field block it was what I pulled out of my head. I will post if I win anything at the fair. I hope I do,it will be a first for me to win on any of my quilts.

Our guild has also been encouraging us to enter quilts in the county fair this year, but unless the fair organizers understand that quilters don't like to have their creations handled by everybody who attends, including kids with cotton-candy sticky fingers, it's going to be a hard sell.  Supposedly they have workers watching in the home arts building, but I have never seen them.  Last year I watched a young couple actually try on some knitted items that were entered!  It boggled my mind!

p.s. Your Texas sampler quilt is very creative and adorable!

I finally finished this quilt for the fair. We were told last year that not many quilter entered quilts in the fair and if this was going to happen that they were going to no longer have the quilts in the fair. So the Pres. of my guild sent out a challenge to make quilts for the fair. So this is mine. the theme is "Deep in the Heart of Texas. I have worked all year on this so happy its done.
