Quilt With Us

I finished my EQ6 lessons on Monday night. I also draw the backing for my girl friends granddaughters quilts. I have a question. My quilts top is 63 1/2 x 87 1/2 what should the back be? I'm new at this and I would like this to look nice. Please someone help!!!!

As a longarm quilter, I like to have the backings at least 4" larger than the top on all sides but 6" extra on each side is even better. I have done quilts with less but it isn't fun. The quilt will be straighter adding 4-6" so that would make your backing (with 4" extra on each side) 71.5" x 95.5". Adding 6" on all sides would be 75.5" x 99.5". Hope that helps.
