Quilt With Us

I was cleaning out a closet way under some stairs in my house yesterday and look what I found~!  This had to have been way back in the corner from when my Mom owned this house ( I bought it from her in 1981).

It is an old Kenmore andlooks to be in pretty good shape.  I found one like it on the internet and it said it was early 1950's....well so am I so I think I will get her a tune up and see how she runs!!  I was so excited to find this pretty blue machine!

that is exciting, and it looks like it has a higher throat space than some machines!  I agree with Barbara G on the color, and why aren't new machines offered in more colors anyway???

What a great find! And the color--why are today's machines white or beige?

And look - probably not a bit of plastic on her!  :)  You can't beat a great find like that.  It will be so much fun to get her up and running.  Let us know how she runs.

Wow!  What a find!  I learned to sew on my Mom's Singer 403A, not too much different than this machine.

My Mom had an old blue/green colored machine that was a "Necchi-Elna" and she loved it.  My old Kenmore was purchased in 1968 and still works.  It is a bit sluggish at times but she still makes the best buttonholes ever for me.  I gave $99.99 for her in a wooden cabinet at Sears. Also got a Plastic hard case to take her visiting in.  She is a charm, enjoy her.
