My poor children--there they are, stuck in the technological dark ages with their pitiful little flip phones. Sigh. I feel so sorry for them. My cell phone started dying last week, with the screen gradually turning white. At first I intended to try to nurse it along until our contract was up in the fall and it was time to renew and for everybody to get new phones--until i realized that I was doing exactly what I went ballistic over with DD. I'll be on the road this week, taking back roads with a phone that is not reliable. So I spent the obligatory two hours at the phone store and emerged with a COOL PHONE. I've never had a cool phone--last time we got new ones, I was thrilled to get a camera and a little button to immediately turn off the ringer when it goes off in church b/c I forgot to turn the sound off, :(. This phone is red, has a slide out QWERTY keypad, and a whole set of really cool smileys. After about an hour and several trips through the manual, I figured out how to make a call. Then I figured out which side to listen to. I've sent several texts and two actually had messages in them. I'm not sure what the musical notes on the menu screen mean, but that just adds to the adventure. DS has been seen picking it up, stroking it in a longing manner, putting it down with a sigh. Did I mention it came with a protective cover---and it's PURPLE!!!! Bwa-ha-ha-ha!!
