Quilt With Us

She asked me to make her a quilt and the only guideline she requested was Dark Blue, Dark Green and Brown. So this is what I came up with.

Jodi I had bought the earlier version can't remember which version it was but it was back in 2005 I don't know where it ended up we moved that year and went with out quilting for about 6 years then when I started back bought this version I am no designing blocks of the quarter (BOQ) for my local guild. It comes in handy. The November BOQ I designed is friendship star with a twist.

Jody-I had the original version of EQ (several centuries ago!), but never used it so I didn't upgrade. I am impressed with what you can do now. What great features! Scanning your fabric in is amazing. I can see if you are in the business of making quilts to order this program would be essential. Thanks for educating me!

It's beautiful and the light background really makes the design pop. Great job.

Jodi this quilt is just the design done on EQ7 with the fabrics that I will be making it with. In EQ7 you can scan your actual fabric into the computer program and then place the fabric into the design that way you can see what the actual quilt will look like once it is made. That way I was able to show my friend who knows nothing about quilts what it would look like since she is paying me to make the quilt. I did not want to invest in the time or money and her to not be happy. We have been friends for 48 years don't want a business transaction to change things. When she said she wanted Dark Blue and Dark Green and Brown I was worried all the dark would drowned out any pattern I designed so I asked her about the light back ground fabric and I sent her a pic of the five fabrics which she loved and then scanned them into my program then put them into the quilt until I was happy with the color placement and contrast in the pattern. EQ7 is a great program to work with.

Is this the finished quilt? Or is it the design that you are planning to use? Only 5 fabrics. What a great quilt! I love it.
