But I said yes.  My daughter is grown and on her own.  she has had a few dogs, the last was a black lab that I had for a while but she found her another home.  The other day daughter calls.  "Mom, do you want Roxy?" This was a yorkie that she bought years ago, but she didn't get along with the black labs.  Many of you know that I have a "few" yorkies already.  Ok so I have mom and dad and devil son here with the Golden Retriever.  Now I have Roxy as well.  I can't help but look at this dog and feel like crying.  She was given to one of daughters boyfriends mom who used her as a breeder. I got the dog knowing like mine that she can't have table scraps.  Apparently that is all this dog had.  She is covered with "hotspots".  What brings tears to my eyes is that she has almost no teeth at all.  This dog is only about 7 yrs old. I know the person who had this dog and I know she didn't out and out abuse the dog but she didn't do as much as she could have to take care of the dog.

After two days of trying to get her to eat the food my herd has, I have gone to the pet store, talked to them about food for her and something that isn't going to cost an arm and leg to buy for her.  We finally came up with a combination that works. The dry food is a bit pricey but we have had two cups of food this morning.  Also found some softer food that comes in Chubs that has to be refrigerated but I can deal with that as long as she eats.  I may end up taking her to the Vets for  a visit any way but I feel better knowing that she is eating and will be getting better.

You're awesome, and what a cutie pie she is!  Beautiful little girl!

Welcome, Roxy, to a home with a heart!!!  However, don't be too hard on her former owners as we just had our 9 year old Cricket at the vet on Friday night, and just 1 year after a tooth cleaning (and 2 pulled) he already has plaque on his teeth again (and I'm the one who takes care of cleaning them nightly). This dear vet said, "It's all genetic and so common in Yorkies". Whew, it isn't all my fault. The only food he will eat is Royal Canine for Yorkies, and never gets any scraps or moist food.

Enjoy your new Roxy and give her a hug from me too!!!  What a lucky gal!!!

Thank goodness Roxie found someone to love her and take proper care of her, I have rescue animals and though they have their "issues" they are all worth it, you are awesome!

Looks like poor Roxie's luck has changed, she'll be loved and well cared for now.  We too have rescued animals, my sister and niece have saved many animals who were considered "property".  I am glad that Roxie is safe now.

A friend up the block came across the same situation.  Her Aunt Mr. Wilson (his new name) and you can tell by olling at him that he was used in the same manner as a breeder.  Mr. Wilson had to have most of his teeth pulled and it took months to get him to eat out of a bowl instead of by hand.  He is starting to come out of his shell - but still has a long road to travel.  We have 5 dogs-3 of them being Chihuahua puppies who some days send me to the end of my rope.  But I would never, ever heart a hair on their loving heads.  You a very special person, great Mom and quilter.
