My Minnesota vacation was Wonderful! Now I am looking for lakeshore property so I can spend part of my year there, each year! I managed to be there in between two hot muggy spells - the weather was just about perfect! And I was able to spend time with old friends - two of whom I had not seen for over 20 years - so that was also fun. One artist friend taught me how to throw pots on a pottery wheel (I bought a wheel and kiln a year ago but have not tried them yet), so that was fun. My brother is a chef and food writer, and used to own a restaurant on a MN lake, so staying with him and my niece was Wonderful! Yum!
I managed to find and spend my money at two great quilt shops - one in Mpls, and one in Wahkon - so that was fun! The outhouse at my brother's (he also has indoor plumbing) was equipped with electricity, so that was fun, also, and an upgrade from the outhouses I remember from my childhood! After I got back to CA, I visited my daughter and accidentally left my camera there, so I cannot post any pics until I get it back.
All in all, I had a great trip - and I am seriously looking for lake property there! I have always felt torn between wanting to be back home in MN, where I grew up, and wanting to be in CA, where I have lived for 35 years - I'm thinking that splitting the time may be the best of both worlds!
