Quilt With Us

I miss you guys...come back and keep posting....

There's no doubt that when you get three women in a room you're going to have a difference of opinion even if you love each other to death...put thousands on a website and you are bound to rub someone the wrong way on any particular day! That's why this site works...we share ourselves in all aspects of our lives. We have lost a lot of funloving quilters that used to post often or drop in and share their talents and life. We miss you and want to know where you've gone. Don't let a few misunderstandings keep us from sharing with each other and supporting each other. I know, I get as much friendship from this site as I do tips on quilting.

So, let's hear from all of you...jam this site with stories to brighten all our days.

Yes, Barbara, it is (almost) summer, and I'm not hanging out here because I'm up in the piney woods at the Mountain House most of the week -- (I know, lucky me!)  We have no television, except DVDs, or internet or telephone connection up there, so I can read the  CT blogs (and this is the only site I ever visit) usually on Mondays and Tuesdays (sometimes Sunday evenings, like now.)  I try to catch up when I can.  No one has ever offended me on this site; you all have been very nice to me.  It's kind of fun to imagine meeting some of you, although I probably never will.  We all seem to share parts of our lives with each other; and that's a good thing.

Jan-I know many gals go to their local churches, libraries, or schools that have large tables to push together. I know what you mean about getting down on the floor! My hubby is a good sport about helping when it's time to lay one out. Very colorful quilts and I'm sure they are greatly appreciated!

I don't usually post much but have enjoyed everyone's comments no matter what the topic.  I am currently working on making scrap quilts from all the 2 1/2 inch up to 6 inch squares that I have cut from scraps for many years.  I just finished one in corduroys that my Mom had started and backed that with fleece.  Now I am working on a queen size of orphan blocks and assorted 2 1/2 inch squares.  I am looking for tips on how to pin a big one smoothly before machine quilting.  This one has too too many pleats on the back.  Any good ideas???  I can no longer crawl on the floor to tape it down.  Thanks!  Jan

It's funny how you really get to feeling like you've gotten to know people you've never met thru a website such as this.  We do all need to keep posting and enjoying each other.  Once again, thanks go out to Pam.  She's the one who generally gives us a jump start when things get a little slow.

Absolutely! Where is everyone and what are they doing instead of hanging out around here? There are so many people missing. Please come back!

Pam, it would be too bad if a few folks have dropped out of this "sisterhood of quilters" because of some percieved hurt or difference in opinion. I haven't been aware of any slights, and I I follow several groups here. Being all different is what makes us who we are and we have to accept others as they are. The old "Golden Rule" still applies.

I find it encouraging when I see folks from all walks in life come together to show compassion and service to those who have suffered loss, terrifying circumstances, illnesses and the like.  And I am the eternal optomist who believes that good, and God, will overcome evil.

There are too many MIA........I really miss hearing from them!

I couldn't agree more, Pam.  Quite often I find myself thinking of some of our old friends that we no longer hear from.  I know some have left for personal reasons such as poor health, but I know some have left due to hurt feelings, which is very unfortunate.  If I left every group I have ever belonged to because I thought someone was rude, I wouldn't have any groups left to belong to!  <grin>  Over all this site has always been much more lenient about certain postings, such as asking for prayers or some political statements, than probably any other site on the internet.  I choose to just not get my feathers ruffled if someone says something I find offensive.  I might not be as friendly toward that person, but I certainly wouldn't let them stop me from being on a site that I really love such as this one.
