Quilt With Us

I made this quilt for my first GN born in July. I finished it the week he was born...except for the binding... which I stitched down on the morning of Dec. 23 lol only because I knew they would be visiting Christmas Eve.  I had put it aside to make a glorious Christmas quilt which still needs the border on one side.  I put it aside to make my Gs a quilt for Christmas. It needs the binding sewn down. I put it aside because I recieved money for Christmas and well new fabric was calling. Fabric for a wonderful old fashioned sampler quilt. I made the carpenters wheel center when I had a vision of a gorgeous mariners compass all done in Batiks. Our quilt show is early next year and wouldn't that be a spectacular entry...done early to boot!!! Right now my shopping cart at Hancocks as $120.00 worth of Batiks in it and all I need to do is proceed to checkout.  Fighting that little devil on my shoulder but I think I'm losing. Anyone out there a counselor?????

OK ladies... i can see you are all enablers..lol.. I,m never going to complete anything at this rate. I haven't proceeded to checkout yet but I have updated my basket and continued shopping.  I will just tell my husband you all said it was ok and proceed. Terry, the quilt is actually a panel and I put on borders. It was only $5. 49 a yard and I needed something fast..it was until I got sidetracked. I loved it because the constellations actually glow in the dark!!! Thanks for the hair compliment Ally.. Its  preety much the same I just went back to brunette. I tried the blond to blend in that gray better but I couldn't get used to it...shocked me every time I saw my reflection LOL

The colors really "pop" in this quilt. It's beautiful.

Just give in, it is not fattening or harmful to your health  so just give in and keep the economy healthy.

You see, we all have the same problem!  I keep saying I have everything I need for years and years of quilting, but then i don't--I need backing or a different size batting or more of one color of thread or something for a border or.......Actually, it's a good thing I'm so slow in finishing quilts or I couldn't support my habit.

A beautiful quilt for your GN. I love the colors that you chose and he'll treasure it and probably have it your years. He'll think of you when he uses iit, when he is older. I, too, have to be careful when I'm shopping online. So easy to get so much material that you love. I like to get the sale material and the more off, the better.

I'm with you.  That $100 I had at Hancock's was all 50% off.  I hardly ever let a good Jo-Ann's coupon go by without using it for thread or some other essentials.
