Quilt With Us

Recently I mentioned moving on to new endeavours, This resulted from reading a book called " Stepping Outside the Block" then I purchased a copy of "Quilting Arts" and read an article called "Permission to play" and so I decided to dive in  and am calling my first piece  "Pemission to play" after the article that inspired it.

So after cutting. slashing and rearranging....here is my first block. I have also a few other units that may or may not be added but I will keep playing for awhile before deciding what goes where. I want to have some big curves and lots of plain spaces to try adding some free motion quilting as well.

That is great...what about doing some fancy overlay stitching or embellishments when it's all done! Can't wait to see more.

This turned out great.  You will have lots of fun doing this.  I have been attacking my scrap bag and coming up with lots of concoctions to make 6 inch squares.  When you add black or neutral sashing, these make great quilts.  Your block has inspired me to keep at it.
