Quilt With Us

I tend to lean toward batiks and very bold contemporary fabrics, with one exception.....feedsacks! I just can't get enough of them! The original Mama's Cottons collection was based on my own authentic feedsack collection, and each new Mama's just gets better and better! I'm so excited to announce we've just launched our latest, Canning Day, by Mama's Cottons!

While I do love ALL feedsacks, I especially like the more bold prints, so the addition of aqua and apricot to this collection makes it extra fun! I'm going to start a new twin sized quilt this week for my spare room and paint the room one of those two colors - just can't decide!

Lynda, I will keep my fingers crossed that you have some orange. Let me know when you know. And thank you sooo much!

Rosemary - I'm sorry but it wasn't included in the kit. Sorry to get your hopes up!

Could you tell us about your new machines? We want to hear!

I love this collection and just ordered the FQ sampler.

Rosemary - I might have some of the orange. I had ordered a kit that I haven't made yet and it might be included there. I can just substitute some of the new collection. I'll take a look and get back to you!

And Karen - I love my scissors - thanks for pointing them out! No pun intended.

This new line is a wonderful follow-up to the Momma's Cottons that I am addicted to. I can't wait to splurge! In the meantime, if ANYONE has ANY of the tossed flower pattern in orange from the Momma's collection, I desperately need to round up some to finish a quilt that was the victim of a mishap. Please, please, please...I will take any amount because I need to total just over 2 yards. I would love to have more, but I NEED 2 yards to finish this quilt as I promised it to the sweetest lady in a nursing home I do therapy work at with my dogs. Please help if you can.

I have a new machine too - and I'm right here, up close and personal with this collection. I think it's only fair that I share the temptation - heehee

I love them too. And to think when I was growing up, my mother had so many real feedsacks stashed away. Her parents had owned a general store and it also sold feed so my grandmother had plenty of feed sacks for making clothes. My mother made me many dresses and I remember making myself a blouse when I was a teen ager from some pretty purple print. I suppose my mother gave the cloth away when she downsized and moved to FL years ago.

I have lots of '30s and feedback reproductions in my stash. They're among my favorite fabric types.
