Quilt With Us

Hey Y'all,
Remember when I posted that I wasn't inspired....well...I've gotten some of my inspiration back....it has been about a month since I touched my machine and done any sewing of any kind. This morning I got up with a new attitude and pulled out one of my finished tops. I actually pinned it today! It was not a chore, I actually enjoyed it. LOL! I then got really inspired and finished the mini quilt that I had started..(the one that I did the hand quilting on)...well, as that story goes, I don't have the discipline or the patience for hand quilting, so I finished it with the machine....but I have not given up on hand quilting, I just realized that the projects have to be very small (plus I'm still really new at it...this was my first attempt and it doesn't look too bad.) One of these days I will finish the Bible cover and the other quilt top...lol

Totally not related: Guess what? I have gotten 3 quilting offers from people that have seen my work. I am totally stoked! I have not made any committments at this time because I have 2 quilts that I have to finish for me and a 3rd quilt for my soon to be 13yr old son who requested a new quilt for his birthday in June. I also am going to make my cousin a quilt because he is about to graduate with a Master's in Social Work and he also pledged a fraternity...so whew, I have my plate full!! My quilting mojo is coming back, slowly..... One day at a time....one day at a time.... :-)

A wise woman (Nancy Brennan Daniels) once said to me, "A candle flickers to get oxygen." Ebbs and flows in our creativity and enthusiasm are to be expected.

Happy to hear that you've got you "groove" back!! We tend to try to do to many things at once I think and then suddenly we don't know what the problem is........................... but it's hard not to start something else, when it seems that one has gotten "stuck" on the last one. Did that make any sense??
Oh well........... LOL
Have a great day!@!

Yay! Congratulations on getting some stuff done (I Know how that feels!) and for the requests of quilt work! Sometimes it helps to have a break and then come back and work a little at a time. I've been experiencing the same thing in recent years, but mostly because we had such a change in family dynamics (business changes, deaths of parents, marriages of our children....) Good luck!

see that is all you needed a long rest and the desire to make a nice grauation gift for one you know will for sure treasure it.
you could tell the 3 ofrfers it may be a possibility that you may make them, but offer a no time limit and see the fabrics first to see if they inspire you first.
I have made quilt tops since I have lost the zest, so you are not alone. am thinking outdoors, spring, planting flowers, etc. have some fabrics that have shells, starfish, beacy sand, etc and some pastel brown, blue, off white, etc to match but have no idea what to make with them yet. the bug has not bit me again.

Good for you! It's such a good feeling when we are getting things accomplished, enjoying it as we go AND have others recognize and appreciate something we enjoy.
