it has been some time since I have last posted here - the reason is that we were so incredibly busy with our first International Block Swap! It was great fun and a huge privilege to look after so many blocks from all over the world! If you like, come to our website and read the whole story: Beyond our wildest dreams
There is also a Block Gallery with all 168 participating blocks, and quite new, a Quilt Gallery with quilts and quilt tops made from the IBS blocks (only two so far, but hopefully growing). The picture above shows my own IBS top including blocks from the USA, from Germany, Austria, Italy, and from England. One "German" block was actually sewn in Thailand, so it has a double nationality! ;-) I made the block in the bottom right corner. The layout includes a large Friendship Star block in the middle which is one of my favourite blocks. There is also some allusion to a Trip around the World setting with the turquoise and red bands around the centre.
I will probably include this quilt top in the Quilt Gallery in the next few days and possibly also write a pattern for the layout which I am actually quite proud of. ;-)
We do have plans for another International Block Swap which will most likely start in the beginning of 2013. So if you'd like to participate, let us know so we can let you know as soon as these plans become more definte.
All the best
