Quilt With Us

Thought I would check in and let you know that I'm still above ground.  The past few months have been hectic and depressing taking care of Bud.  Sat. he went to the hospital and will be going back to Marshall's Health Care Facility from the hospital possibly tomorrow.  I was pretty much in prison, as he wouldn't let me out of his site without calling out my name asking where I was.  If I went to the store he was mad when I got back for not telling him where I went.  (when in fact, I would tell him several times)  He calls me Grace. (his aunt that has been dead for years)  One day he was talking to "Grace" and all of a sudden said, "Irene is an awful Bitch". I had to laugh and the next day when his mind was a bit clearer, I told him to be careful what he says to Grace as she tells me things.  We had a good laugh but I'm still Grace to him.

My wrist is nearly healed.  I go back to the doctor next week and should get the all clear that I can use the  hand again.  I can't wait to do my own driving.  It's been a long 6 wks and I can't wait to get up to the house and finish moving, cleaning and closing up the house.  Of all times to be laid up, it had to be during the moving process,

i have sold a lot of things already.  My car, big sewing cabinet, washer/dryer, fridge and many other things.

I'm anxious to get at my sewing again.  With Bud gone it will be easier to sit down at my machines and be productive.  I still have the kitchen and living room curtains to make.  I have the fabric. I will go up to the Rec. hall and use the big tables to do my cutting.  I miss my big kitchen and dining room tables that are up to the house.

Well this is my news in a nut shell ~ Irene

Hugs to you Irene. Do take care of yourself. It's good that he is getting care and protection. You have a great attitude.

I have been thinking about you and remembering you in my thoughts and prayers. This has to be a very hard time .  I am glad you can keep your spirits happy; even when our mates say bad thoughts.

Irene so sorry life has sent you some curve balls. But having a great sense of humour that you have I am sure keeps you going. Life will get back to normal for you soon, once that wrist is healed you will be able to sew again and that is something that will give you peace. Take care.

Uugh. So sorry to hear things are so rough for you. My heart goes out to you. I am happy that you will be able to get some you time, and I am glad that Bud is going to a place he will be well taken care of. Keep your chin up and I can't wait to see those curtains! Take care, prayers and hugs!

I am so thankful for stitching!! All through the years from the time I was a little girl stitching has helped me remain sane, and I am NOT exaggerating. How could we ever get through all that life has to offer without being able to sit in a quiet spot and take a few stitches. It makes the rest bearable because out of the melee of life something beautiful is created. Something in our hands that we can see and something in our hearts that we can't see but is nevertheless very real. Irene, bless you for persevering.

Hope the dr. gives you the all clear.  You need some normalcy back in your life.  Sorry things are so difficult with Bud.  What a reminder, "Grace", that we all need to approach life with a certain amount of humor, or we'd all go batty.

Sweet Irene, I was thinking of you the other day & wondering if you were able to get your house sold yet.  Wow, girl, you have had to much to deal with over the past few years, but you have kept such a great attitude about it.  I agree with the others that there just comes a time when you have to say you can't take care of someone.  Doesn't mean you don't love them, but you have to care for yourself too.

Good to hear from Irene.......I'm sorry to hear Bud is going downhill, but it sounds like his going back to the home will be a blessing for you. His care is just too much for you to handle. Please take care of yourself and I hope you can again enjoy your sewing! Love you!!!

Glad to hear from you again, Irene.  Keep on keeping on, girl, you've got the right attitude.  Best wishes for your wrist healing, Bud improving, and things swinging around to normal for you again.

I've been sewing up a storm at the mountain house -- too hot yet here in the valley -- but fall is in the air; can't wait.  It's my favorite season!
