Quilt With Us

Hello Quilting Friends;

 I am remiss at not posting anything of interest in the month of May so I'll try to make up for it in this posting.

I won a second and a third place ribbon for the Warwick Valley quilt show mid-May. And I just finished the last two projects this past week.

The crazy quilt pillow (Molly Mine designs) unfortunately has a unique closure on the back. I had reversed the two layers (one with the button holes already sewn and cut). So I had sewn the button on the inside of the closure on the back. I figured, who's going to look at the back of the pillow. Until I can bring myself to changing it and reversing the back closure, it will live in infamy this way!

On to the next project(s)! I hope to quilt up the spring quilts since I'm on a roll with the quilting machine. I find that I procrastinate terribly to this step of the quilting process. Maybe it's the lack of ideas as to how it should be quilted. If it's too big to quilt, I ship it out for a more professional look. I can do the wall hangings pretty good now. I even see an improvement! (WOW!)

I have also become interested in embroidering on my sewing machine. I'm slowly going broke buying designs. Hard to justify to my DH why we're eating hot dogs more often! :-$. And I just attended my first Anita GoodDesigns all day workshop at Hoover's  in Mifflinburg. (They can sell me the Yankee Doodle bridge and convince me that I've made a wise investment!)

Yes, I made a quilt with embroidered flowers on it, but will post it when completely quilted and bound. Tune in next time!

Happy Father's day to all who are fathers!

Regards,

Billie

Those are just gorgeous....  I love the Feathered Star.  It's on my to do list!   The red ribbon one at the top,  is it paper pieced?   It is just beautiful as is the one below it.  I love ALL  OF  THEM.   And the pillow is perfect......  You've done a fantastic job on all of them.  I would of given you a first prize ribbon on all of them!

Lovely quilts - all!  Congrats on the ribbons.  I can't imagine what won 1st place, since I'd have a hard time thinking yours could be topped.  Nice recent finishes as well.  We'll look forward to your next post!

Very lovely, intricate quilts!  And you're right, who looks at the back of pillows?

May?  We're almost to July!  Indeed, what happened?

Wow!  What color!  I love every one of those quilts.  And the pillow is really pretty as well.  As for the pillow closure - don't tell, no one will know.
