Hello Quilting Friends;
I am remiss at not posting anything of interest in the month of May so I'll try to make up for it in this posting.
I won a second and a third place ribbon for the Warwick Valley quilt show mid-May. And I just finished the last two projects this past week.
The crazy quilt pillow (Molly Mine designs) unfortunately has a unique closure on the back. I had reversed the two layers (one with the button holes already sewn and cut). So I had sewn the button on the inside of the closure on the back. I figured, who's going to look at the back of the pillow. Until I can bring myself to changing it and reversing the back closure, it will live in infamy this way!
On to the next project(s)! I hope to quilt up the spring quilts since I'm on a roll with the quilting machine. I find that I procrastinate terribly to this step of the quilting process. Maybe it's the lack of ideas as to how it should be quilted. If it's too big to quilt, I ship it out for a more professional look. I can do the wall hangings pretty good now. I even see an improvement! (WOW!)
I have also become interested in embroidering on my sewing machine. I'm slowly going broke buying designs. Hard to justify to my DH why we're eating hot dogs more often! :-$. And I just attended my first Anita GoodDesigns all day workshop at Hoover's in Mifflinburg. (They can sell me the Yankee Doodle bridge and convince me that I've made a wise investment!)
Yes, I made a quilt with embroidered flowers on it, but will post it when completely quilted and bound. Tune in next time!
Happy Father's day to all who are fathers!
