Quilt With Us

It's a boy, no it's a girl, no it's Innova!

Well it arrived today! At least in parts. Ha! Parts is not even the word for it. I think DH counted over 300 bolts alone and just sighed. Actually he is in pretty good humor. Why do men see parts of something as a great challenge? To me it is just plain scary. We had ordered only 10 ft poles as the bedroom I am putting it in would accommodate that ok but 12 ft will make it very tight. Guess what?? They sent 12 ft poles. DH is pondering over it and don't know if we will try and work with this or cut them down. We might try and keep them. Right now they are just laying on the floor with the thousand little bags of bolts, nuts and what ever that connects it all together. Thanks everyone again for all the advice pouring in. I need everything I can get. Keep it coming!!

I bought a floor frame last fall myself. I put it together myself. I am Jane of all trades. Been a widow for the last five years and I have to do everything by myself. Quilting is my passion and one day I will own a Long-arm machine too. I do all my quilting by hand and my two sister's quilts also. I think Last count I cranked out a dozen quilts this last year alone. Have six needing quilting done on them now and several more in piecing process. I tell you I can't get my long-arm fast enough.  Have fun with your new family member, cuz if your like me my frame is family.

Hi Marla - Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I was on vacation - Yes I still have my Innova and really do love it. I guess you could say I have a love/hate relationship with it. Tension adjusting really is a challenge for me - I'll get the hang of it one day.

So what happened with the polls, did you have to cut them? Are you up and running yet.

PS I hope you didn't get this message twice not sure what happened to the first one I tried to send you this morning.

Any company that values customer service would send you the 10ft poles and let you keep the 12 foot (store them for a rainy day?).

Hope you don't have 3 little parts left over when it's all assembled :) !!!

Time to bake your DH his favorite treat I think. Keep him happy while he works away at it. Just think, soon you will be quilting away!

I'm with you Marla, that many parts is scary...my hubby loves the challenge. He says it's like putting models together when he was young! Enjoy it...when it's together!

Marla, if there is no divorce and you have a frame when you are finished, that will be a bonus (ha). Take care and know that I am thinking of you, DH and 3000 bolts as well as 12 ft. poles. It will be great if you can keep them at 12. Hugs to you.
