Quilt With Us

Ok I confess, I was afraid to start quilting the quilt on my LA. I've had so many issues with that machine. I was right, I had some today but I figured them out and got things going. I've done two whole blocks on the quilt. It wasn't so bad. It could be tons better if this dang machine wasn't so wobbly when you start out moving it slowly. I know this is for my niece and she doesn't care but I do. It doesn't matter at this point how much practice I have, I need to do something to the machine to make it not feel as loose as a goose. I have metal rollers on metal poles and it just doesn't work for me. If any one has any suggestions PLEASE let me know.

Kathy, it is beautiful. Sure wish I could machine quilt like that. I am afraid to even attempt it. I stick to my hand quilting unless I am doing stitch in the ditch or just a cross hatch.

I'm jealous! The quilting is beautiful! I would contact the person/dealer that you bought it from and see if they have any suggestions about the wobbling.

I have a couple of bean bag weights that i put on my machine to get a little more control. Seems to be just enough to make it comfortable. I just lay them up on top out of the way. I've also seen videos on youtube of quilters using rice bags. Hope that helps.

Ahh Haa the other half came home for the night. Going to twist his arm and get something on the poles to separate the metal to metal. I'll let you know what I came up with next time.

It looks wonderful to me, but if you are not happy with it then it's no good. Can you contact a dealer or machine person to help you?
