Quilt With Us

i've been thinking, quilting is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. Small pieces that go together to make a bigger picture, hopefully. You can't break anything or hurt anything. You just work at getting it to look nice. I think that is a good attitude. I really can't hurt my quilt, I can only make a mistake and rip it out. Heaven knows I did a lot of that when I made my own clothes and my daughters. No harm done! Will have all day tomarrow to start sewing and that is the most fun for me. I love to "put the pieces together". Will keep everyone posted!

Started sewing the kitty ears together on my quilt and my Singer sewing machine jammed. Rethreaded several times, took everything apart and cleaned and it still jammed. Something is going on with the bobbin and I can't find it. How frustrating! I am starting to think I have it threaded wrong but I have redone it several times. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I now have 24 small triangle squares together that will be 12 pairs of kitty ears. The time just flew! This Sunday I will be at it again trying to match kitty cat ears to kitty cat heads. Wish me luck!

Great attitude!  Rome wasn't built in a day, as the saying goes, so have fun doing the project, it will get done somehow.

You're right...it is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. No wonder I like doing both! And I can't stop until they're complete.

That's a good attitude.  I am often stopped by Fear Of Failure, but I am realizing that I can't progress if I don't even try!

I'm a finisher...love to find tops at antique shows or sales. often wonder about who made a top and didn't finish it...does that sound like any of us? give me your UFOs! Lol

Attitude is everything and you have the right one!  It is to be fun and enjoyable and not a task that must be absolutely perfect.

I prefer the piecing part in making the quilt.  Seeing the pattern evolve into something beautiful is exciting.  And speaking of piecing reminds me of my cousins husband.  He hasn't got it though his head yet why you take a perfectly good piece of fabric, cut it up in little pieces and then sit down and sew it all back together.

my husband enjoys jigsaw puzzles and tries to get me to 'help' him on one every so often... I usually tel  him that I have my own puzzle to work on - whatever quilt I'm working on at the moment.  I've even told him that I'll help him with his if he'll help me with mine, but he always refuses lol.

piecing blocks are my favorite thing to do in quilting.
