Quilt With Us

What a summer! I'm often surprised when I check my calendar. Evidently I have no sense of time but this year has been exceptional. I feel like I lost February and March. Then April grabbed May and they scooted off together. I guess June and July thought that looked like fun and ran after them. Holy smoke!

Now,  I should be here for a couple of weeks. The garden is filled with weeds. I have done final changes (I'd do more if I was allowed) on new book. Book 7 in the series. How did that happen? Anyway, it is totally out of my hands now. I'm waiting to see if they'll buy Book 8. It's written.

In the quilting world I finished a reversible table runner for a silent auction--one side is sweet blue and yellow piecing, on the reverse is gray blocks and a "chalk outline". I was going to post a photo but I was anxious to get it in the mail and remembered after I had it all taped up. Sheesh! Have returned to applique for the time being. Too hot to hand quilt.

I don't know where the time goes. It is for certain that I need to be more efficient with mine. Enjoy what is left of your summer. Sounds like you've been super busy.

Time has such a way of getting away from us. Hope you can enjoy August to the fullest.

I am so in denial about July ending!  I totally love fall, but that's after enjoying a long, warm summer!  And, since summer has just arrived, I can't wrap my brain around it being more than half over.

I was just thing about how it's almost time to start thinking about getting our lp tank filled before winter prices hit us. It's been really hot here lately! And the mosquitoes! Holy cow they are huge, and in massive quantities! I did manage to go out but the heat of the day to round up the weeds that have gotten out of control, but I'm not brave enough to stay out too long!

DS has been visiting from the arctic edge of Alaska for the past two months!  Where have they gone??  He is leaving tomorrow afternoon to return to his library.  School starts on August 10.  It is sooooo hot here  -- right now it is 109 degrees!  Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter!  I've finished the wall quilt that I'm sending with him to be hung in the library, (photo to be posted later) and I'm not going to touch anything else quilting-wise until it cools off!

I have totally lost summer...it is finally hot here and the swimming is nice. Thank goodness for the swimming buddies to keep my sanity. The septic is still under suspension, but positive tones...so there's hope. There will be a complaint filed after this is all said and done. The trees come down tomorrow if the weather cooperates. There is one of the largest quilts shows in Syracuse this week, I will have to squeeze it in. I need it to be May1 st.

I feel the same way Barbara.  At least for a change I don't have a lot of appointments outside the house so I can concentrate on quilting deadlines.  I keep telling myself that I need to stop signing up for so many block exchanges, round or row robins, etc. and then next thing you know, someone starts another fun one.
