Quilt With Us

Yes, we have been quiet here for a while so guess I'll put in my 2 cents worth in.  Here in NW Wisconsin spring is 2-3 weeks earlier than usual.  The first "salty" has arrived in Duluth/Superior harbor 2-3 weeks early.  Snow has been gone for 3 weeks; there's a bit of frost still in the ground.  DH attempted to pull out 2 dying shrubs with the 4 wheeler but frost is holding the roots in ground tightly.  He does yard work and I do flower beds and veggie gardens; all are done till wind blows in more leaves.  Tulips, daffodils, etc are poking their heads up from the earth so I guess spring is truly here.  Sometimes I feel like we are living on the prairie as we have had so much wind all winter and now.  This week temps are in the 60's; no jacket weather.

On Saturday I went to the local greenhouse to plant the pot for the cemetery.  I chose a spike and red, yellow, purple, and white flowers.  We keep the pots at greenhouse as long as we want. I'll leave mine till Memorial Day; should be beautiful by then.  Usually I don't get to greenhouse this early so very few plants were in bloom.  Maybe I'll go back with another pot to get a head start.

Finished another quilt but haven't taken a photo yet to  post.  Bought fabric from CT a couple years ago and finally used it; has a quilting theme.  I like to name and label my quilts; think I'll call this one "Just For Me" as I am keeping it for me.

I keep a quilt journal for photos of my projects; have 2 journals full.  So, started making 2 new ones; a fun project for a recess from quilting for a bit.  In the past I've made them for a couple gifts and sold one.  When done will post photo.

Two members of my family need prayers; my youngest sister and me.  Sis had breast pre-cancer 3 years ago having had a lumpectomy and takes Tamoxafen.  Now she has cancer in other breast; surgeon is recommending mastectomy.  Due to having had cancer previously surgeon is recommending mastectomy of both breasts.

I have just begun the same journey for the first time.  New calcifications in both breasts.  With sis on same journey and my DD a 6 year survivor I had a biopsy of both today; will get report on Thursday.

So please add us to your prayer list.  God is good.

Thanks for listening.  Will post results soon.

I am so sorry to hear about you and sister.  Sounds scary.  The family history makes you look hard and long at how to make decisions.  Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

All the time.  June, I'm sorry to hear of the health concerns you and your sister are dealing with right now.  I'm glad you are keeping on top of this and seeking treatment early.  Hope that sharing the burden with us will make it a little lighter to bear.

Beautiful sentiment, Sharon.  Thank you for sharing your heart and talent with us.

I walk with Love along the way and Oh, it's a hold day.

No more I suffer cruel fear, I feel God's presence is with me here.

The Joy that none take away is mine,

I walk with Love today.

Sending prayers and loving thoughts to you and your sister.

Spring is finally getting into full swing here in NH, though there's still a bit of snow in the backyard.  This weekend I tried to get most of my dog's land mine so we could easily go into the shed for the tools needed for spring cleaning.  The daffodils and crocus are trying to come up through the pile of leaves I dumped in the garden.  It's going to be in the 60's so I hope to get the leaves out and prepare the plot for more wildflowers to attract butterflies and bees.
