Quilt With Us

Hi Ladies, I thought I would check in so you know where I'm at. I have had a couple of conversation on FB and QWU chat with some of you but for the most part I haven't been on the computer much lately.

I ripped my bedroom apart over a month ago and still haven't gotten it done yet. Just when I think I have time to go back at it, I get redirected. I'm working on it today, only because guild was canceled. Last week I had to make a big birthday cake for my aunts 90th birthday and then I went to her party. I have been to a baby shower but made no attempt to make a quilt. Buying a gift was much faster. This week I spent two days at a local restaurant making them new table covers. I broke my serger. Had to take it to Bangor for repairs. Have no idea what that will cost or when I will get it back.  I dug out my old serger that I retired when I got my newer one in 2005. For some reason the old one is breaking the left needle thread. So I just took that needle out and sewed with three threads.  I got the job done anyway.  Now the restaurant owner wants me to come back on Monday to make some extra table covers out of the vinal that was left over.  It looks like I will be working for him for awhile as he wants valances made for his restaurant. And also curtains and drapes for two of his houses. So I'm hoping to get my bedroom done today so I can squeeze in time to make some drapes and a bedspead for my room.

And by the way I have been diagognosed with Macular degenerate disease in my right eye. Have to go to Bangor to see the eye specialist on Oct. 3rd.

Hi Irene,

I've been away on holidays... just got back a couple of days ago and I'm harvesting my garden and greenhouse... no end to it... I hope you are well.

I, too, hope the MD is the treatable kind.  Will keep you in my prayers that you will have good news when you see the specialist in October.

Wow! you are busy.  Love the fact you were able to improvise and get the job done anyway, in spite of difficulties.  Hope you are able to squeeze your drapes and bedspread in soon.  After all that work for someone else you deserve to give yourself a treat!

You are such a busy, busy lady and hope that you get your bedroom done, so you can concentrate on the work that the restaurant wants. I was sorry to hear about you having DM and hope that you have the treatable kind. Now make that appointment and don't waste anymore time wondering. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Irene, wishing you best luck on your MD appointment, along with my prayers.  You surely are busy, but please take good care of yourself first.

My,  Irene, you are one busy lady.  The mother of a good friend has MD and has had good results from the injections so there is lots of hope for successful treatment.  You will be in my prayers that you get good news at the specialist's appointment.  Please keep us posted.

Thinking of you Irene.  I try to make my calls to my mom silly so she will feel happy after I call. I let my sisters who see Mom all the time tell her any sad news lol

My mom has it. she is still driving local but doesn't drive the 80 mile drive to my sisters.  I should ask her if it is worse.
