Quilt With Us

I have just joined the group through invitation from Christina. Still doing some work on my home page like getting a picture of me. I am really looking forward to the different ideas and discussions from everyone. We are winding down from Christmas and hope you all had a good one. Working at our little local retail store during Christmas is an all consuming thing. Seems I have had no time for anything but now with Christmas behind us, I can zoom in to some of my more important stuff. I am trying to tackle my unfinished projects. Sure this is something you all wouldn' t do; start a quilt project and then jump into another. VBG New Year's resolution: complete those projects. It's cold and snow is here; perfect quilting weather. Wish me luck. Meanwhile, enjoy the picture of our 2008 snow and the elk that ventured in.

New here from Fort Wayne! So glad to get in on this group. Looking forward to interesting discussions and ideas. We had an ice storm in Fort Wayne before Christmas, one fourth of our city lost power. We were fortunate, only out for a few hours, but many of our friends were out for over one week! Very unusual for around here. We live in the woods, so have many trees down, but I guess that will keep us busy through to spring! We had single digit temperatures one day, and then it almost hit 70 the next, so the ice has melted. I hope 2009 brings me more quilting time. I have completed several tops, and have begun getting them ready for quilting. I am a novice at machine quilting, so practicing, practicing, and still love to hand quilt (just need to get some of the projects done quicker by machine). Always keeping projects handy! I co-own a business and have lots of church responsibilities, so I have to put my quilt time on my schedule to fit it in! I have a very understanding husband, who sees how much better I feel when I get my sewing time! So here's to a productive, fun, 2009!
