Quilt With Us

It has been so long since I have been on here I am almost embarrassed to do so. A lot has happened over the past few months. I lost my job of 10 years ago last fall but found a similar position with another company. I really like the new job but have been working my you know what off trying to do a good job. Guess I am just scared that I could get laid off again. Oh well. I have been squeezing in sewing time when I can and have the energy to do so. I really need to get a new camera and learn how to down load pictures. I did get a new laptop a few days ago which I love and no one else can use it. Yeah! I am getting to be a techno mama with my IPod Touch and my Sony Reader. Scary though how fast techology changes and I don't know if I can keep up. I am also getting a long arm soon but more on that later. My battery is getting ready to go out. So talk to you all later!-Marla

Marla, glad you got another job and are enjoying it and still have time to sew. Have a great 4th of July weekend.

I'm glad to hear you found another job. What LA are you thinking about getting? I hoping to get a Fusion sometime in the future.

Hi Marla - thanks so much for the update! No apologies needed, like Pam says, job security is too important! Sounds like you're embracing technology and keeping up just fine!

Charge that laptop up Marla, I want to hear more. I'm glad that you've found a new job and that you like it. The fear of losing a job is a very legitimate one these days, and always in the back of DH's and my mind too. Very exciting to be getting a longarm, hope you will show & tell!

Nice to hear from you Marla, It sounds like things are really looking up for you now. It's tough losing a job and starting over so I'm glad there was a job ready for you to jump into. I hear what your saying about this new technology. Just when you think you've got the latest in equipment it's out moded and replaced by the newest versions. Congratulations on your new long-arm. Once you get used to using it you can make money quilting for others. In no time it will pay for itself. I have always had hobbies that I could make some money on rather then just costing me money.

Congratulations on the replacement job and the new toys. I am sure that when you get that other new toy, you won't be a slacker like me and within a year you will know how to use it. I am happy for you.
