Quilt With Us

This is the most recent "stash reduction" project. It might take me awhile if I only use them up in baby quilts.  Individually, the fabrics are cute and go well together, but overall, this one isn't my favorite - not sure why.  Hopefully someone will love it.  It is 42" x 42".  Machine quilted (poorly, but we do what we can). It is backed with pink flannel.

The pink and green "X" blocks were made several years ago for another baby quilt, but they didn't quite look right in that project, so I set them aside.  The deer fabric was gifted to me - just scraps left over from a sewing project.  The pink and green fabrics were my great aunt's.  (So I'm not only using up my stash, but other folks' as well...)

The quilting corner is cleaned up and organized once again.  That won't last long, but it is ready for the next project.  There are more baby quilts to make, but I may practice my machine quilting on a couple of tops that have been in storage waiting to be finished.

Happy quilting!

Thanks for the chuckle this morning, Barbara!  You are so right!

I think you are doing fine with machine quilting. Not much of a machine person myself, I have learned the benefits of using one to get the quilts with timelines done in a timely manner. There is no point in giving a high school graduate the small quilt that he was supposed to get in the crib.

Thanks, Pam.  I'm determined to at least get my machine quilting to the "passable" stage.  You're right - some days it goes better than others.

I may be AWOL the next couple of days.  Getting ready for branding.  DD was here and WASHED MY WINDOWS for me!  I may not let her go home!

It does look vintage! I love it for that reason. Some days machine quilting is a breeze...other days...not so much!

I love your scrappy quilt with the design you chose, with all the colors. I, too, love to make scrappy quilts and do have lots of smaller pieces to work with. Some little baby will love to have this quilt as he or she grows older to have as their security blanket.

Thanks, handstitcher.  My son remarked that it looked "old school."  Do you suppose he meant "vintage"?

Such a sweet quilt, PQ! I like it borderless with the green binding. It will be a lucky baby for sure that receives this quilt.
