Quilt With Us

Never take Aiden and Great G-ma shopping together.

The first thing I learned this morning is that Aiden doesn't like to be in the seat where you can strap him in.  Great G-ma had a cart and I had Aiden in another. Aiden prefers to be in the cart!

Now we know why, he was just a bit hungry?

The second thing we learned today at the store was never turn your back on them.  I'm not talking about the baby, we lost Great G-ma aleast three times this morning.  Ok it doesn't help that she is short and I mean short to begin with.

The next lesson learned was that Aiden doesn't like you to get too far away from him.  I had to unload moms cart at checkout and bag and reload the cart.  Great G-ma isn't to good at paying attention to the baby.  She was more interested in being in my way to get things packed.  Aiden started crying in the checkout and at that point there wasn't much I could do but try to get the whole thing over with quickly.  Having finished with moms stuff it was time for my checkout.  Ever try unloading a cart while holding said crying baby?  It was an experince I don't remember going through with his mom when she was little.

Needless to say, I survived.  Then mom wants to go for lunch.  I turned that one down and took her home and took Aiden back to his house to wait for mommy and daddy to come home from work.

It had been a long morning and I decided that it was time for a nap, not his, mine.  Bottle in hand we headed off to bed. He in the crib me in the spare room next to his.

The last lesson learned, ok I learned this one years ago.... After his nap and mine Aiden and I went out to watch some cartoons.  The only problem is he didn't want me to put him down.  Fine with me. We sat together in the rocking chair watching cartoons.  Now that was quality time well spent!

A trying morning ends with moments to treasure.

This is just a reminder of why we have kids when we are young. It takes allot of energy to keep up with them.  I liked Aida's comment about the condoms. That would rank high on a list of embarrassing moments. lol

Glad you survived your shopping trip.

One lesson I learned with my DGD when we went shopping was to keep the cart as far away from the shelves.  I wasn't paying attention while we were in the medicinal aisle and I was looking for some anti-itch cream, without my knowledge she picked a package of hmmm...condoms and put them in the cart.  Imagine my embarrassment when she handed it to the cashier first thing as I was unloading the cart.

He definitely has grandma dancing! Those carts are so dangerous. They get off balanced if the child leans forward, especially when the cart is empty. The kids keep us on our toes at all times.
