Quilt With Us

We are getting our first blizzard for this Winter.  I'm sure it's one of many to come.  Looks like we will have a white Christmas, unless the rains come and wash it away.

Every year I tell myself that I'm going to make gifts all year to have at Christmas time but another year has come and I have nothing made.  And when I did make something I either sold it or gave it away. So off to the stores I go for gifts.  I hate shopping for anything.  My fridge looks like a display in an appliance store. Clean and bare. When I have depleted the food in the pantry and fridge I take that grueling trip to the store. (1/2 mile up the road).  When it comes to buying gifts, I over think everything.  What color should I buy, will they like it, will it fit.  So I stay home open my purse and put money in cards. I KNOW they will like money. Then comes the cooking.  Decisions, decisions. Is this Normal? Or does other people have this same dilemma?

Merry Christmas to Everyone and a Happy New Year.

You need to start earlier in making Christmas gifts,,,,,I am still at the machine making mine already I have several ice creams bowls to make for gifts,, I always have someone at the very end to make for, Good luck. I gave gift cards to ours, and it was all done in 15 minutes...

We have 70* today,,,had short sleeves and my 3/4 pants on, but tomorrow will be a different story, Brrr....maybe not even in the 50's. Merry Christmas.

I hear you, Irene, loud and clear. I get movie and dinner tickets for some, gift certificates or money. Also, some love to get a package of socks, so that a tradition and they expect them. You have a Merry Christmas and hope that dinner is cooked by someone else.

We started giving money to our grandkids a few years ago & they like it that way.  For one thing, we have to mail 4 of the gifts to Las Vegas & I would rather add to the dollar amount & save on the postage.

We had a little dusting of snow about a week & a half ago, but more is predicted for Thurs.

I also overthink things...always have.  I do actually make gifts year round, but those darn birthdays come up before Christmas, so I give the stuff away, and still scramble at Christmas.

Merry Christmas, Irene! I do the same thing - I say I'm going o start in January and sew and sew to make gifts to save some money, but then I never do. I think you and I just get burned out from doing all the sewing that we do all year, and need a break LOL. Maybe next year we'll do better. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hugs, Becky

I hear you Jodi, I do a lot of my shopping on line also. And I agree with you on the mammogram. And WHY do they keep those rooms so cold.

Because we travel to visit the grands (and their parents and uncle) at Christmas, everything to them either has to ride in my suitcase or be shipped. I prefer to shop local when I can but Amazon does a dandy job of delivering exactly what was on the list.

I'm with you Jodi...send those boobs in!!!

This year, I told the grandsons I want the sku numbers on what they want, so I get it right and no returns!!!! They are getting out of toys and I can see that it will be harder to buy for them.

I used to have the same dilemma and I hated it. Then I had a stroke and couldn't go shopping. Well. I could but it was not a pleasant experience. Do you know that people do not see a wheelchair? I can't tell you how many people ran into me because they were only seeing things at their eye level. No fun. So I started shopping on-line. Much better and the choices get better each year. I even do my grocery shopping on-line. So much easier. Including produce, dairy, frozen, you name it. Takes about the same amount of time as going to the store but so much easier. Drive to the pickup area and they load it into your car. Done. Now if I could just send my teeth to be cleaned and my boobs to be mammogrammed I'd be set. Merry Christmas!!
