My DH and I love books! We've moved so many times over the years, I can hardly count. But, one thing we never get rid of are our books. We can sift through everything else to lighten our load, no problem, but books are off limits. Our community has just built a huge library and it's beautiful. I was amazed at how busy this library is on a day to day basis. Perusing the shelves of books is exciting to me. I limit my selections to two whenever I go so that I can get through them cover to cover before they are due back. One title in particular I will have to renew this week. "Tangle Stitches" by Jane Monk. If you've ever done any tangles, Zentangling, then I suggest this book. It's like a beginner's guide to tangling on fabric. I intend to do every project in the book to get proper practice and then do a larger piece for my wall. The first project in the book is to make a "biscornu" which is basically an irregular shape cushion using 2 squares of fabric. I didn't make a pincushion as it suggests, I made a paper-weight/book-weight. Every time I have a book open in my sewing room, I end up losing my page, so this weight is a perfect solution. Today I will be making one more in black with white stitching and a different design.
