Quilt With Us

Love the beautiful tulips...but look out that window. total white out!!! ugh...it's time for Spring

I did dust off my machine...started with a small project. Had enough fabric from a quilt to change the cuffs on a set of pillowcases to go with it. It has got me back to planning something bigger. I would rather be outside in the garden but I think that will be a couple of weeks away. In the meantime, I hope you are getting Spring in your area!

We have a few tiny wild irises in bloom. The grass is trying to green. Although yesterday was warm and sunny, it doesn't mean winter is over in the Rockies.

I can relate, Pam.  All Winter when we should have been getting snow, we got bare ground and 45-50 degree weather.  Now..... when we are hankering for Spring and warm weather we are getting lots of wind, rain and yes snow.  But thank goodness it don't last long.

I have nothing yet (well, maybe a few scattered daffodils) up at the mountain house.  These are in my valley house backyard, and be assured they will be gone soon.  Hot weather fries these, so I photograph them so I can remember!  I don't remember what the flowers on the vine are called, but the ones with the lonely red tulip are freesias.  Most are yellow, but I sometimes get a few blue or white ones.

We go through that every year. Spring comes to Salt Lake City about a month before we get it up here in the mountains, 30 minutes away. Our bulbs in the front yard have shoots about 3" tall, and we still have piles of snow here and there. We could get more snow any time during the next 2 1/2 months.

I'm sure those tulips are glad to be indoors!  We need the moisture, but we'd rather have it in the form of rain than snow.  Hope Spring eventually finds your part of the country.

Carol Ann - beautiful flowers!

Barb - the snowstorms get discouraging after awhile, don't they?  Happy quilting while you wait it out.

Gosh, you and Carol both have me just begging for spring with those beautiful flower pictures.  Every time I think it's ready to arrive, we wake up to fresh snow.  It was snowing crazy hard this afternoon, again.  I have high hopes for later next week, but in the meantime, I'll stick with quilting.

Pam, Spring is here in NorCal -- more than here  -- which is to say we've have more hot weather (92) than we need, but my flowers are blooming in the yard (see below).  It's just that they won't last long in the excessive warmth!  Bummer!

Tulips are my favorite flower & these are lovely.  It is chilly here in Mid-Missouri, but at least there is none of that white stuff on the ground.  In fact, we had almost none of that this winter.
