Quilt With Us

Am I crazy?  I've lost a quilt - even lost the picture I had of it!!  I made a quilt and it was on our bed all summer.  I remember taking it off the bed...but where in the world did I put it?

It's not with my other quilts, I've been all over the house -- and now have realized I don't even have a picture of it.  I keep photos of all of my quilts, apparently didn't remember to take that one?

How can I lose a queen sized quilt?  I'm sure it will turn up in a really obvious place (sure hope so anyway).

Signed,

Crazy Mary

That's awful Nancy, I'm so sorry -- it's scarey to give our quilts to the mail service.  Don't feel bad that he didn't think it was a big deal -- maybe he was just trying to make you feel better.  We love our quilts, but 've found not everyone is quite as enthusiastic as we are about them :)

I made a VERY SPECIAL quilt for a VERY SPECIAL guy for a VERY SPECIAL occasion.  He told me just a few weeks ago, that he never received it!  I sent it by mail...I am devastated...........I put so much time, love, effort into it.  How hsould I react?  He acted like it wasn't huge deal?  I don;t even know how to feel!

LOL, I just read the original post and am so glad you found it.  Sounds like something I'd do, choose a very carefully thought out, logical spot, then promptly forget where it was.

The quilt center motifs were hadn pieced, the "lines" were hand embroidered with heavy decorative thread, and the rest was machine pieced and machine quilted.  Was a really nice project to work on while watching tv.  I REALLY need to do something in front of the tv so I won't eat!

Glad that you were able to find it... it's a very pretty quilt.  I, too, have things that I've lost or forgotten - 5-10 minutes after I get into bed, I'll probably remember it.  Kind of drives my DH a little nutz on the nights that I keep jumping out of bed several times as I 'suddenly' remember things lol.

So glad you found it. I recently found a top that was missing for months--maybe the two of them went off  on a road trip together.

Your quilt is beautiful. I have the pattern in my stack of "want to do's". Did you do the handpiecing?

PHEW!  Good for you.  Don't you just love those "light bulb" moments?  It's beautiful.  Is that machine embroidery?

Well, in the middle of the night I thought to look in the attic, and found it in a box nearby where I had carefully packed it away with the rest of the summer bedroom curtains, sheets, etc. What a relief!

I hope everyone who commented will be able to see this post and know the end of the story!  Thanks everyone for your support!

I can relate to this story. Dh lost one of his favorite jackets recently.  "I" searced the house over two to three times. Of course he just stood in the middle of the floor looking around, like it was going to come running to him.  I found it hanging in the closet with another coat over it.  I had looked in the closet but since he never hangs anything up I guess I didn't look too hard.
