Quilt With Us

What am I thankful for? A question we always ask ourselves over this past holiday and today I can truly give an answer: I'm thankful to be HOME.............Alive! We went to our son's girlfriends parents house about 3 hours from here and it took 5 hrs to get there and 4 hrs to get home. We used to live in that area and moved away in 1990 and I'm so glad now as the traffic there is horrible. I was told it never stops being bad. Anyway, I wanted to share a little something I made for all the ladies that were with us for Thanksgiving. They're "post-it-notes" covers that can be slip'd into your purse and you will always have a piece of paper to write down those obscure things that come into your head or reminders to ones self. I've had one for years and love it. I'm going to try making them with heavy wool felt as I think they would wear better than card stock. I thought these would also make great stocking stuffers for you scrapbookers and card makers out there. Then again, you probably already knew about them. They also can be made for the little mini post-it-note pads. It's just a matter of cutting paper, folding it around the pad and adding some do-dads, glitter and velcro dots. Today I hope to get a little sewing for Christmas done. I need to get an order out for JoAnns that will take most of the day but I should be able to sit at the machine early evening. Mom and I are making Christmas card holders for family members, about 10 of them. If we do an assembly line process it should go pretty fast. Best go and get busy. Have a great Sunday.

Debbie, these are so cute. I think I saw a pattern for them somewhere but can't remember just where. Can you post the directions or e-mail them to me? I have 10 girls I work with and this would make a great little surprise for them.

Debbie, those are real cute. Did you have a pattern for them or did you just make them out of your head? No time to do much these days as DH is a full time job right now since he had a total knee replacement. Not fun, let me tell you. He has lots of pain.

Ok, I'm not a scrap booker, so I've never seen them before, but boy I sure do love em. Here's another thought, gift card holders. I'm also glad you have your mom involved with making them. How is she these days?

I too have not seen those before & they are just adorable. They would make cute gifts for secret sisters or kid's teachers or just for those people you want to give a little something to.

Debbie - these are great! Such a clever idea and you always choose great color/pattern combos. I'll tuck that one away in my (non) memory bank.

HOW CUTE, you are so talented. How do you make the time? I'm retired and can't find extra time, I guess I could stay off the computer.
