How many of us have had that project from hell that you've put so much time into it, that you can't quit now.....BUT, every time you work on it...it fights you! I posted last summer a counted cross stitch king size spread that I bought finished, but I am doing the background quilting. After, I sewed the back pieces together and had it sandwiched...I realized one panel was upside down!!! That was a swear-a-thon like no other...contemplated leaving it...but, can't put all those stitches into it and have it wrong. So, that had to be changed. It's all basted and started stitching...only to realize after hours of stitching the back fabric had flipped onto itself and I had to rip it out!!! Again, there are some new swear words floating out in space! But...kept stitching along. Have finally finished the top part...now working on the border. Doing a king spread was a project...will never attempt this again by hand. I will say it is gorgeous and will be beautiful at the lake house.
Hang in there on those projects from hell...they just want you to earn their beauty!

Comment by Lori/MD on January 21, 2013 at 12:50pm Is this the same one that your DH nearly threw out? It's beautiful. I had an aunt bessie who was a cantankerous old woman too. It's an appropriate name.

Comment by Pam/NY on January 19, 2013 at 8:15pm Gayle...that sounds like a good name...Bessie it is!
Pam I know that you have named all the others "ladies" that you have made and would love to loan you a name for this one, Bessie. That was my grandma's name and yes she had a lot of the characteristics of that project. She was a little old lady that packed a big stick in the meanest way but loved all of us to no end.

Comment by Cindy on January 19, 2013 at 1:37am You'd best be keeping ALL of your 'adventures' in a journal so we can read your book once it's written.

Did a baby quilt recently that the applique work gave me fits...almost didn't send it off to the kids for their new son...but, they love me and aren't judgemental...it'll keep that little guy nice and warm during this winter in Alaska.
