Quilt With Us

Just checking in to say hello to all my Quilting Friends.

I have had a fairly productive Winter so far.  I got a third quilt back from the LAQ yesterday but have to put the binding on before I take a picture.  I started working on a Sunbonnet Sue for my second great granddaughter. I'm also working on a wall hanging when I go to our Sewing Club.  I can't believe how fast the time flies. Our Snow Birds will be packing up and moving back to their homes before too long.

My next post will be a picture of my grandson's quilt. Happy Sewing to all.

March is starting out with a storm. It is currently snowing like crazy but it is supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow. I hope so but I don't have much confidence in the forecasters. It is a good time to play in my sewing area.

Hello Irene, sounds like you have been keeping busy. Making quilts for the little ones is such fun. Enjoy.

Greetings Irene:  Yes, it is March!  The Northeast has had some storm, the wind has finally let up!  Thankful we received rain with a touch of snow.  Not far away folks are shoveling!  I worked in my sewing room while the rain came down in buckets for over 24 hours.  I did a little sewing, organized works in progress and looked through a few books.  I will try to post a few photos soon. Happy sewing!  Can't wait to see your grandson's quilt!

My friend Lynn & I were chatting today about whether or not we should both go through our quilt studios & choose patterns we know we will never use & try to sell them.  Also, the last yarn shop in Columbia MO is closing its doors at the end of this month so of course I had to go buy more yarn which I needed like I need another hole in my head.  We used to have 2 really nice yarn shops, but the other one closed right before Christmas.  That owner said she was still going to have some inventory at her home, but I don't think that every came to fruition.  The woman whose shop is closing soon told me that internet sales have just killed their business.

Sounds like you have been busy, as usual.  I think it makes the winter go by faster when I'm productive.  Look forward to seeing your pictures!

We did get one big storm but it seems this Winter every snow storm has turned into pouring rains and washed the snow off except for where the plow pushed it back. Our ground is bare but ice patches remain.  I just seen on the news that upstate N.Y. is getting hammered today with snow. I think Southern Maine is getting a big storm today though. Been sunny here in the East.

Janet, sometimes life gets in the way of our production but you seem to crank out quilts pretty fast. I get burned out sometimes and do something different, like organizing photo's etc.

Sounds like you have kept yourself busy this winter. I see you guys got a lot of snow today. That's always heavy and knock out power. We are going to have a cold streak only going to be in the high 70s...I know brrrr!

Hi Irene.  I too can't believe how fast time flies.  I didn't have as productive of a month in Feb as I did in January, but it wasn't a total bust either.  I don't have a lot scheduled for March so maybe I will be able to get 2 or 3 quilts finished.
