Quilt With Us

It's been ages since I posted!  I have been following along reading your posts from time to time, but it seems like I've been getting caught up in so many different things lately.  Hope all is well with everyone.  We had the mildest winter in years, and March did not come in like a lion at all!  We are definitely experiencing an early spring!  No complaints here, just that I want to spend more time outdoors instead of inside quilting!

I wanted to see if somebody out there could help me find something I am looking for.  I am looking for Vintage children's quilt patterns, patterns from somewhere between the '30's to 50's.  I have looked online and on ebay, but so far no luck, I only see embroidery patterns. Not sure if I need to word it differently, or if they're just that hard to find. Does anyone out there know of any sources for this type of pattern? The ones I like best are the applique ones that have animals, circus themes, ducks, and nursery rhymes.

Thank you!

I have the book Linen Heirlooms Vintage Linens by Suzanne McNeill. Many of the vintage designs are for embroidery, but there are also several applique patterns -- Sunbonnet Sue (and Colonial ladies), butterflies, dogs, cats, bunnies, elephant, squirrel, etc. I just looked it up on Amazon and it's available for under $12.

Bonnie, that's a good idea, but I'm envisioning some quilts I saw in magazines that were originally kits sold between the 30's and 50's. After checking out Janet's idea, I got some more ideas of how to look for the kind of quilts I'm looking for!

Pam, they're doing great, thanks for asking!  We had a bunch of respiratory illness run through our whole family (9 grandkids and 10 adults!) in the last month and a half!  Two cases  of pneumonia (toddlers).  Everybody is doing well now!

Janet, thanks for the tip.  It is definitely in the right direction.

Trudy, it seems like you are busy as always.  I'm sure you are enjoying all those new grandbabies!  I don't know if this website will have what you are looking for, but you might try http://www.sewfunpatterns.com.  Take care.
