I hope this finds everyone filled with the Spirit.
My week was up and down. I was under the weather a few days this week. I did get some weaving done though.
Here are some pictures of the banner. I really need to get a wrought iron banner holder for it. I used hook and loop on the back to make the hanging sleeve. I was so amazed that it held up through the high winds and rain of last Saturday.
I twisted it around to show the back:
I need to clean up the back a bit more, to get the tear away out.
If you notice the blue bucket. It has a Rose of Sharon planted in it. It was sent to me from Darren as a bare root. So it will get to stay in the bucket for a while until she gets her roots established. She will have pretty red flowers. Red flowering Rose of Sharon's are hard to find. Darren's wife ran across this one so they got it for me. Last year, for Mother's Day, they gave me 2 other Rose of Sharon's, but they were not red. They could not find any.
Since we had the 7 tornadoes go through our county last Saturday, they are having to stretch out services across the county. So, please keep everyone in your prayers. Wednesday, May 10, will be the second anniversary since my towns tornado. I know how crazy it was and has been since then. We still have homes being rebuilt. People still getting their lives back together.
I plan on doing a lot of yard work this week. One of the things that came out of our tornado was 'Vandal Service Day'. High school students spread out across the community and help the residents with outdoor yard clean up. They weed, trim, pick up trash, plant flowers, etc. This year we signed up for it. They want to give back to the community. In the lower grades, the students do things to beautify their campuses.
On Saturday there was a birthday party for Erica, Ryan's wife. Her mom set up a wild one. First and foremost it was a surprise party. She was surprised. Then they had a scavenger hunt around town. I did not take part in this. I stayed back and watched kids. But this was not the scavenger hunts of my days of growing up. This one consisted of doing some crazy stunts in public. They had to take pictures and or videos of each 'stunt' completed. These are a few of the stunts; sitting in patrol car with handcuffs on, singing a Christmas tune in a store, sleeping in public, etc. Yes, they did all of these and more. It is a wonder that no one was actually arrested, or at least the police called. All in all, everyone had a great time and we had lots of laughs.
Sorry this is out a little bit later than usual.
Have a blessed and Spirit Led week.
