Quilt With Us

I will be heading home.  Our high school has an all-school alumni banquet every year.  Although I'm not going to the banquet this year, I always head home for the Monday traditions.  The volunteer fire department hosts a free breakfast for the community with pancakes and traditional farmer's sausage.  (My brothers are both volunteer firemen following in Dad's footsteps.)  Then I will take Mom up to the cemetery to put flowers on the graves of relatives before the 11:00 veteran's ceremony at the flagpole/memorial wall.  It's a nice way to connect with friends and family every year.

Hope you all have a safe Memorial Day and that the weather is kindly to everyone finally.

Have a great trip Suzanne.  There are some traditions that are worth keeping, and your Memorial Day is one of them.

It's great that you have traditions and support your family! We started going to the local parade several years ago, then first one, then both DDs began marching in it through scouts and the marching band. Some years we go to the ceremony as well, but this year I'll have my father with me and he won't be able to last that long in the predicted heat.
