Quilt With Us

Hi Everybody!
I think it's been at least a month since I last had a post. It's been a crazy time, lots going on. This weekend (and past week) alone there is/was a lot happening, but all good, so no worries there.
Thank you to those of you who keep Russ and I in your prayers. We still have not sold our home and the pressure is mounting to get it sold, but everybody has been truly wonderful to us and so helpful in anyway they can, and it means the world to both of us (and our kids, who are watching and touched by the generosity and kindness of strangers and new friends willing to help out).
This past week was busy with quilt jobs and making gifts for a bridal shower and a new baby in the family (no, not one of ours, but a niece had a little girl a while ago). Yesterday was the shower and today is the wedding; it's in the high 80's out there and very humid! Tomorrow our kids are having a gathering at their home for Memorial Day and every day this next week I am busy because I have two graduation gifts to finish and a quilt to make (start to finish) for a customer. I can breathe a sigh of relief after the 8th again... anybody that tells you life slows down once your kids graduate high school is lying through their teeth! I don't mind, it just caught me off guard. At least I know better now and I also know it tends to go in spurts more than being a constant thing.
I'm still keeping my eye on the posts on here and checking out your work, even if I don't get a chance to write often.
Happy Memorial Day to all of you. Whether you're out celebrating with family, sitting back and relaxing, or puttering in your garden and/or sewing room, I hope it's a joyful start to your summer!

Trudy--it was so good to see you posting--you and your DH remain in my prayers. It's so encouraging to see your positive attitude, in spite of the difficulties you guys have gone through. I know exactly what you mean about life NOT slowing down when your kids finish high school. I feel like I'm busier now than ever, and the stakes are even higher! Good luck with all that sewing, and I hope you get good news soon about selling your house.

It was nice seeing your post today Trudie. I think about you & wish you good luck with the house situation. Having just gone through that in 2008 myself I sympathize!

Trudy, still praying that the house will sell. Just remember it is in His timing. Glad all is going well and you are keeping busy. Hugs to you.

Things never slow down. The older you get the more you have to do. After you retire, you wonder how you ever had time to work. Whew!!!! We love being retired and are never at a loss for something to do. Keep up the good work and Happy Quilting.
