Quilt With Us

I am very sad. Today morning my mother-in-law has died. It was 87 years and had a very full life, but it hurts, nevertheless. My children cry around her granny.

I read some more posts and saw that you were making her a quilt. I hope you finish it, use it, and remember her. In time your memories will help you feel a little better.

I would put the quilt away for a while, then finish it later when you are ready.

It's difficult to lose a loved one. I only got to know my MIL really well when she moved in with us before her passing. It was both a blessing and a curse. I wish I had known her better sooner. Your memories will sustain you and your children. Laugh often. Maybe you should send the quilt with her instead of just looking at it and not wanting to finish it.

Milavia, finish your MIL's quilt and use it in her memory. Think of her every time you curl up with it.

So sorry for your loss Milavia. It is so hard to let go of our loved ones. My DH just committed his mother (89) to a care facility yesterday as she has dementia; so she has left us already. She was such a wonderful OMA to our children. They find it difficult to see her in the poor state she is existing in. Rejoice in knowing, as you stated, that granny had a full life and that you will all remember her at her best.

I owe you for your condolence and the dear words, this gives me strength. I had begun for my MIL a Quilt which it should receive in October for her birthday. Now here he lies before me and I cry.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my MIL several years ago and we were close as well! My heart goes out to you and your family during this very sad time.
