Quilt With Us

We are moving home to Colorado on Wednesday! The floods in Colorado were devastating for so many people, but all of our family and friends are ok.  I called our builder and our new house is totally fine, no flooding.  We sold our house here and we are in an apartment with our dog, but it has been fine.  I can tell you I have been really stressed out because we didn't sell our house here until last week.  A friend of ours bought it then terminated the contract (too long of a story for this place) and that was scary, but for the best. Then we sold it  about a week later.  Good grief! We haven't seen the new house since mid-July, when it was just framed up.  It's like a puzzle - I have about 15 puzzle pieces and I haven't seen the box cover!  We did choose everything in the new house and have regular updates with pictures, but haven't walked through it, so it will be a big surprise.

Can't wait to see my family, friends, the Colorado sky, and all the familiar places.  I will miss my treasured friends here, but I know we are life-long friends.  Our daughter and son-in-law and our granddaughter are coming to visit us for our daughter's birthday, so I am super excited about that!

My husband is a school counselor and will retire at the semester in December, so while he is doing that I hope to get my quilting space set up.  I haven't sewn since May.

They say there is no place like home and it sounds like that saying fits you.  So glad your new home escaped the flooding.  Moving is tough but well worth the work if your content in the end.

Sounds very much as though luck has been with you in this move.  To replace a buyer within a week or so in the current market has to be exceptional!  Yes, PQ is right, go fondle some fabric - it helps!

So happy for you AND that the new house was not affected by the floods. I'm starting to feel a little settled in, most things are put away now. I'm glad your present house has been sold. It's always difficult when a deal doesn't go through.

Congrats on the move.  Hope it goes well.  Glad you were not in the areas of flooding.  Imagine you are well into quilting withdrawal.  Go pet a piece of fabric or something!  :D
