Have you ever avoided doing task because you really didn't want to tackle it, you knew it wasn't going to be fun, and you weren't sure you wanted to get involved? Whine alert! I was minding my own business, working on a new book, having fun. When whump--into my inbox came the edited manuscript for the next book--please fix. Okay, the thing definitely needed work, I diligently did my rewrites. But, I knew when I sent it in originally that there was a problem--PROBLEM-- with the mystery quilt pattern. Shazbot! I had hoped it would magically fix itself if I ignored it. It didn't.

What a mess! I have bits an pieces of it spread over all of my office the table and have crossed out things, added things, used a whole pad of sticky notes. In desperation, I started over. I pulled fabrics to make it a "Quilt of Valor". It's working now--maybe because it is headed away from here.

Sorry for the whine.

Thank you for your advice. I have the wine, the chocolate, some cheese, sesame seed crackers and great online friends! Party on.

Whine away, Barbara.  To BJ's chocolate, and Pam's cheese, I'll add some sesame seed crackers.  We could have a PAR-TAY!  Meanwhile, fix that darn thing!

I love that you sent it out knowing it would come back!!!! Sounds like a great stall tactic! I do love it when after agonizing over a problem for what seems like days, when the solution comes and everything starts to jell! I have some great cheese the next time this happens!

Yep, I'm a pretty good procrastinator on those types of tasks.

Sounds like the whine helped clear the air and things are coming together. Hooray.  Next time, add some chocolate with that whine and even if things don't work out, you'll feel much better! LOL  (Yep, my go to answer for just about everything, but what can I say? )
